After years in top-level sport, Thomas Kalberer opened Chälbli Bikes und Service GmbH in Egg in 2003. The company name "Chälbli" was derived from his family name "Kalberer". After his victory at the Junior World Cross Country Mountain Bike Championships, Thomas Kalberer's nickname appeared in the media for the first time and was from then on synonymous with top performance. After only four years, the premises in Egg became too small and the opportunity arose to move to the current store in a prime location in Uster. Already in the opening year, the store offered with great success the "Chälbli" bikes, which were individually built according to the customer's wishes. This basic idea has become part of the company's philosophy. Personal consultation, customer proximity and the individual needs of the clientele are at the top of the list. The Chälbli team works continuously to specialize and distinguish itself in order to continue to offer a sound service, to consolidate trust and, of course, to pass on the enthusiasm for cycling.
